Little Marmara came into the world soon after my son made his own grand entrance. Though I’m certain he would have preferred remaining happily unclothed, our climate insisted that we swaddle him in something more than nothing. As a true believer in organic foods, I surprised no one when I decided that organic fiber clothing was the way to go. What was surprising, however, was how hard it was to find healthy options that looked great, felt better, and made my little one as happy wearing them as I was putting them on him. Where’s all the good stuff, I wondered? The answer was simple. I had to make it myself.

Before you could say “baa, baa, black shirt,” Little Marmara was born. Our clothing is made to inspire and hand-fashioned for comfort from 100% chemical-free organic Turkish cotton. This means your kids won’t ever want to take it off, which can greatly complicate both bath time and laundry day.

Named after the Marmara Sea and the ancient Middle Eastern trade route that followed its shores to link the Bosporus and the Mediterranean, “Little Marmara” is a nod to my son’s Turkish heritage and to the idea of connecting things that need to be connected. Like East and West. Past and Future. The earth and ourselves. And, of course, your kids and wonderful clothes.
